Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s secret project just got more concrete.
Warner Bros. has revealed that the new film from the writer/director and his long-time collaborator will hit theaters near you on March 7, 2025. The project is big enough to warrant showing on IMAX.
Warner Bros. describes Coogler’s latest as an event film, which isn’t surprising because this is one that delivers black panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Another frequent collaborator of Coogler’s is Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, who won the award for his most recent work. Coogler wrote the script for the new project and will direct and produce via his company Proximity Media, along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. After three weeks of interest from multiple studios, Warner Bros. eventually secured the project, beating out Universal Pictures in the final round. The film reunites Coogler and Jordan, who first rose to prominence in Coogler’s 2013 directorial debut. Fruitvale Station He wrote it on the spec.
