Director, screenwriter and producer Todd Field presents TAR with Cate Blanchett as Lydia Tar, a pioneering conductor of one of Germany’s leading orchestras. We meet Tar at the height of her career, as she participates in both the book launch and the long-awaited live performance of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. In the weeks that follow, her life begins to crumble in the face of current problems. The result is a rigorous examination of power, its influence and stability in modern society.
