Lessinia Film Festival opens Thursday, August 24, 21:00 With preview which looks to the future of cinema and makes the town of Bosco Chiesanuova its protagonist.
Waiting for the start of the screenings at the Vittoria Theatre, st. big screen under the bell tower on Church Squarefilm festival dedicated to life, history and traditions in the mountains offers a selection of short films shot in vertical format in collaboration with the “Vertical Film Festival”, the first international “vertical” film event. Evening has like guest Salvatore MarinoArtistic Director of the Festival, the sixth edition of which will take place in Rome in October.
The reference to the vertical view creates parallels with the verticality of the mountain environment. But they the themes of the Verona Festival, in particular environmental, sustainability and the relationship between man and nature be told in a new and potentially “explosive” way that invites us to look at unusual perspectives, think about the possible evolution of new cinematic forms, and appeal to the attention and interests of young and very young audiences with films close to their ever-changing digital world.
“The Lessinia Film Festival is an open look at the world of the Highlands, which has made Bosco Chiesanuova a harbor and at the same time a gateway to endless horizons. This is the 29th edition – homecoming. This is the realization of a long-term intention to expand the scale of the exhibition in our country more and more. – says Claudio Melotti, mayor of the municipality of Bosco Chiesanuova “It is in this spirit that we wanted to open the heart of our Community, Piazza della Chiesa, for the pre-evening of the Festival. I invite you to come and enjoy a festival with an international flavor, but inextricably linked to the history and stories of our Lessinia. Happy Lessinia Film Festival to everyone, young and old!” Melotti concludes.
Music
After the cinema purely female musical project of pop-folk covers with Gabriella Morelli (voice and guitar), Sara Alessandrini (percussion), Veronica Marchi (voice and keyboards) and Virginia Perbellini (voice). From songs by James Taylor, Francesco De Gregori and Diodato to forays into the repertoire of Lady Gaga and Adele, not to mention historic bands like The Cranberries or Oasis.
In the evening admission is free.
