An iconic set of Chicago Bulls player Michael Jordan’s legendary sneakers will be up for grabs at an upcoming auction. The value could be as high as $10 million.
Jordan’s sneaker collection, known as the “Dynasty Series,” included a pair of Air Jordans that he wore in every decisive game of the six-game NBA Finals series.The package includes Air Jordan VI originated in 1991, followed by Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997) and Air Jordan XIV (1998).
Brahm Wachter, head of modern collectibles, called the collection “the Mona Lisa of sports memorabilia” in a statement to the Daily Mail.
After winning the 1991 NBA Finals, Jordan signed and presented his sneakers to Tim Hallam, then the Bulls’ public relations director. This gesture is repeated in each of the next five titles. The MVP of six Finals victories, Jordan’s sneakers continue to be the most valuable line of sneakers on the market after each victory.

Jordan’s partnership with Nike was instrumental in transforming his extensive Jordan Brand and cementing his legacy in basketball. As a result, Jordan became the first NBA player with a net worth of $1 billion.
As for the auction, it includes photos of Jordan celebrating every championship except 1991. Auction house Sotheby’s will be responsible for selling the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) sneakers.
Although it was initially announced that the collection could only be sold privately, the decision to accept offers was made only after the set went on a world tour to determine its true value. The auction will begin on February 2 and the value of the Jordan sneakers is estimated to be between $7 million and $10 million.
