The words “fall manicure” probably conjure up images of deep burgundy, romantic plum, chocolate brown and delicious pumpkin spice hues rather than the neutral “milk bath” nails that were so popular among our celebs this summer. However, Selena Gomez is here to say, “Not so fast! A milky manicure is still great for fall, thank you very much.”
Gomez and her manicurist Tom Bacsik make a very compelling case for keeping things light for fall with their latest collaboration, which Bacsik calls a “pink milkshake.” Indeed, Gomez’s nails really do taste like a vanilla milkshake with just the slightest drop of strawberry or cherry flavor; they are a super super pale pink and white color that looks good enough to drink.
Bachik lengthened Gomez’s nails using Aprés Nail’s Gel go manicure. I filed my nails into a square shape, then painted a neutral pink base nail with Aprés Gel Couleur in Yuri-ka!, a light beige nude, to tone down the color and turn it into a gorgeous soft pink-white. Doesn’t it give you visions of cozy cashmere sweaters, fluffy whipped cream on milk, and the warmest, coziest blanket? Just me? Well, I’m another Selena and Bacik client, the one and only Jennifer Lopez, who recently sported a gorgeous set of “sweater-appropriate” nails.
