Senacsa declares bird flu epidemic under control and maintains alert until November





Asunción, Intellectual Property Office. – The authorities of the National Animal Quality and Health Service (Senacsa) confirmed on Friday that the avian influenza epidemic in the country is under control and that the state of emergency will be maintained until November 25.

They pointed out that conditions have allowed declarations to be stopped, but prudential supervision will still be maintained.

This week, the Bureau hosted technical staff from the United States Department of Agriculture and the Southern Cone Permanent Veterinary Commission to strengthen the poultry industry.

The technical assistance visit concluded this Friday with a review of the preparations and actions taken to control the emergency, as well as a visit to Senacsa facilities, poultry farms and the Fundassa headquarters in Boqueron province.

Experts stressed that Paraguay uses its resources efficiently and noted the importance of working in coordination with the poultry industry to implement sustainable animal health policies.
