Based on the trailer, all multiverse versions of the Spider-heroes are in danger, and it looks like they’ll have to go head-to-head with Miles Morales when the heroes can’t agree on what to do to stop the villains. The trailer shows Gwen going to Miles, perhaps to warn him, but Spider-Man 2099 has no doubts about how to save the world.

However, the film also features the Vulture and The Blur. Most of the public are familiar with the Vulture by now, but it’s The Blur that seems truly dangerous. In Marvel Comics, he is a man who has the power to open portals that can lead anywhere, including the multiverse.

He is extremely powerful, but also not entirely confident when it comes to using his powers. It is likely that The Blur will open the portals into the multiverse, starting to unravel the Web of Life and Destiny.

There’s an armored Spider-Man that harkens back to the 90s hero from Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Iron Spider is featured in the trailer, as are Spider-Man Manga and Spider-Cop.

Peter and Mary Jane’s daughter from a future timeline, Annie May, is on her way as a Spiderling. Lady Spider, Bag-Man, Were-Spider-Man, Future Foundation Spider-Man, and most notably Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider also appeared in the trailer. That’s 21 known variations of Spider-Man, and there are sure to be more.

Marvel Comics has a Spider-Man title in the works with its own variants of the multiverse, and heroes like Silk and even a Kraven Spider-Man. With Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, the possibilities are limitless.
