Steelers legend slams Tom Brady cheating scandal

Most consider retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady to be the greatest quarterback in league history, if not the greatest player in league history. He won seven Super Bowl championships, six with the New England Patriots, three regular season MVPs and five Super Bowl MVPs. He also had a tough rivalry with the Pittsburgh Steelers, which he dominated for the most part.

Naturally, there’s some professional envy, as Brady has essentially been hoarding these accomplishments for most of this century. At the same time, he also brought a little bit of this jealousy and resentment to himself, at least indirectly.

Two examples are the “Deflategate” scandal, in which he was involved in the deliberate deflation of air in the 2014 AFC Championship Game in which the Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts, and the “Spygate” scandal. “The Patriots spied on the New York Jets and recorded their coaches during games to steal their defensive signals.

Recently, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was disciplined by the Big Ten for stealing signals from opposing teams. Brady, who played his college ball there, announced on social media that he would be donating some proceeds from the sale of the wristbands to the school.

Star linebacker James Harrison, who won two Super Bowls with the Steelers during Brady’s prime, had some harsh words for the legend.
