Rafael Gutiérrez, Secretary of the Supreme Court of the Province of Santa Fe
Current Courts Minister Rafael Gutiérrez was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and remains hospitalized in a private clinic in the city, where his condition is progressing well.
According to sources consulted by El Litoral, the magistrate has been suffering from the flu for much of last week. His condition worsened on Sunday and he reported a fever on Monday. On the recommendation of his family and personal physician, he went to the emergency room for help. A series of studies – tomography and films – had been carried out in the area, confirming the diagnosis of pneumonia. A COVID-19 test was also conducted and the result was negative.
Medical staff then decided to send him to the intensive care unit, where he remains under control. He responded positively to treatment and his fever was under control. His general condition was stable; he received visits from family but never lost sobriety. Even so, he will remain in the hospital for the next few hours.
Gutierrez, 75, joined the province’s Supreme Court in June 2000 during the administration of Carlos Reutemann; and served as president several times.
