Taylor Swift came to the American Banking Center in 2010.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — When former K-99 and The Bull radio host CoCo recently found a 2010 concert ticket for a show at American Bank Center in her home office, she posted it on her Facebook page, “CoCo’s Corner,” thinking this will help make for a fun #ThrowbackThursday.

She said she had no idea it would cause such a reaction.

That’s right, Swifty—your queen once played a concert in Corpus Christi, and the self-proclaimed “Old School Swifty” has the receipts.

“I have a shirt that I love to wear and I think I’m so cool in it because… I’m a total Taylor Swift fan, y’all,” she said with a laugh. “I’m a fan of Taylor Swift 2010. I even have the number 13 tattooed on my wrist.”

Laughing at herself so hard she could barely tell the story, CoCo said her devotion runs so deep that the only reason she doesn’t have Swift’s signature “heart hands” tattooed on her back was because of her husband’s objection.

“Thank God he talked me out of it,” she said.

Instead, she received her “13”.

To her surprise, after reading the comments, she realized that she was not the only one who remembered the show.

“You know, one of my friends who I’m hanging out with now, she was listening to me on the radio and she wrote that her five-year-old was at (the concert),” she said. “Well, this (girl) just graduated this year. This (show) was a gift for her fifth birthday.”

The show was a stop toward the end of Swift’s “Fearless” tour, which was her first headlining tour, and featured opening acts Gloriana and Kelly Pickler.

“When I came across this ticket, it just grabbed me – it gave me all these little sweet memories of, you know, when I was 28 years old, going to a concert with my girlfriends, supporting this fun young artist “, – she said. “And then look at where she is now – sold-out mega-concerts. The fact that she played at the American Bank Center is pretty wild.”

Now a mother of twins, she has no plans to attend the Eras Tour shows, but said that doesn’t mean she loves Swift any less.

“I just… I got baptized by fire just being there, you know, in the front row,” she said. “Literally, it was like I was in the end zone where she was making touchdowns. Like when we were at that concert, I remember being so close—it’s funny—I can see that Taylor Swift didn’t shave her legs.” That’s how close we were.”

But she said she will always cherish the memories of being backstage at the T Party Room.

“They set it up like a Mad Hatter tea party, like Alice in Wonderland,” she said. “It was cool. I wish I had pictures of how magical it was. I mean, I was shaking. I couldn’t believe it. We were just there with her. She sat with us and chatted. It was just awesome. “

The Corpus Christi show was her second Taylor Swift concert; she also saw her at the San Antonio Rodeo in 2009 and was struck both times by how down to earth she was.

“She was so interesting,” CoCo said. “I mean, you just think about how relatable she is and how sweet and how funny (she was). It was like she was just fun to be around. She was just, I mean, even in the photographs – like she was smiling. Like, this is a photograph. You would take it with a friend.”
