The new Italian trailer is out The Boogeymanthe highly anticipated thriller-horror film which is the film adaptation of the short story The baubauer by Stephen King (contained in the famous collection entitled Sometimes they come back). The film, directed by Rob Savage, will arrive in Italian cinemas on June 1st, distributed by The Walt Disney Company Italia.
In the director’s chair sits the Englishman Rob Savage, who has by now become a cult name in the horror genre (he became such after bringing the much appreciated film to the big screen a couple of years ago Hosts).
This time it is the story that is reworked, decorated with ribbons and packaged for the cinema The baubauerby the Master of Maine (King, in name and in fact, at least as far as thrill literature is concerned).
The story of the famous American writer was adapted for the occasion by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, those of A Quiet Place and of the imminent 65along with Mark Heyman (who wrote on nothing less than The black Swan (Black Swan2010) by Darren Aronofsky.

Such a success that it even brought a film to theaters for streaming

The Boogeyman it was originally designed exclusively for the streaming and home video market, however – after the excellent results obtained in the first test screenings to say the least – it was decided to also distribute it to the cinema.
The Boogeyman is a classic horror film in the mold of Poltergeist – Demonic presences, which is scary and emotional alike,” explains director Rob Savage. “I vividly remember the terror I felt reading Stephen King’s story as a child, and it’s this very childhood feeling of dread that I wanted to instill in movie audiences around the world. This film was made in collaboration with an incredibly talented creative team and beautifully and intensely performed by our amazing cast. They all really enchanted me. We are incredibly proud of this film and can’t wait to give you all a reason to be afraid of the dark again.”

The story of terror told by The Boogeyman

The Boogeyman stars Sophie Thatcher, Chris Messina, Vivien Lyra Blair, Marin Ireland, Madison Hu, LisaGay Hamilton and David Dastmalchian.
It tells the story of Sadie Harper, a high school girl, and her younger sister Sawyer. The two girls are shocked by the recent death of their mother. Their father, Will, offers them little support. He is a therapist who is in turn trying to face and metabolize his pain.
One day a patient shows up at their house desperately trying to get help from Will Harper. He will leave a terrifying supernatural entity in his wake, which feeds on the suffering of its victims. He seeks his nourishment from grief-stricken families, so he will find bread for his teeth at the Harper house.
