Penelope Cruz, platform moccasins and a mini dress – a combination seen on the catwalks and loved by celebrities
We usually associate Penelope Cruz to elegant looks, obviously from Chanel. As one of the House’s most loyal representatives, led by Virginie Viard, it’s hard to imagine her wearing anything other than tweed, but this time she was spotted on the streets of Madrid in summer attire.

The shoes were also a surprise. In fact, Penélope Cruz swapped out the peep-toe sandals that graced her looks several times with a pair of gray suede platform loafers.
The look was also unusual, with honey-colored hair with a “loose” look that highlights the copper base, and genuine leather.

Platform moccasins are popular with celebrities, starting with the Prada Monolith in matte leather with a chunky rubber sole and triangular front plate worn by everyone: fashion editors, influencers (from Chiara Ferragni to Pernille Theisbeck), top models like Hailey Bieber.

Platform moccasins appeared at numerous shows for spring-summer 2023, from Paco Rabanne in a metallic version to Vivienne Tam in shiny calfskin, up to Coperni in a transparent platform model.
On the catwalk, platform loafers are paired not with tailored suits or masculine-inspired outfits, but with cool summer clothes midi or mini lengths, flowing and light fabrics, patchwork, even layers of tulle. A style that was picked up by celebrities and that certainly also inspired Penélope Cruz.
