The John Wick universe expands in The Continental trailer

After the great success achieved by the four chapters of the Lionsgate saga has decided to expand the John Wick universe also on the small screen with The Continental, a three-part TV series that will explore the origins of the iconic hotel seen in the cinema. As can be seen from the trailer released on the net the show will center on a young Winston Scott, character played on the big screen by Ian McShane. To take on the role in the series will be Colin Woodell instead.

Space also for a young Charon (Ayomide Adegun), played in the 4 chapters of John Wick by the late Lance Reddick. The series promises the same mix of adrenaline, shooting and action seen on the big screen, while also revealing several mysteries. It will arrive on Peacock in September and on Prime Video outside the US, the Middle East and Israel. In the cast we also find Mel Gibson in the role of Cormac, Ben Robson as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour in Miles’s Jessica Allain like Lou, Mishel Prada as KD, Nhung Kate in those of Yen and Peter Greene who will play Uncle Charlie. Throughout the series, viewers will follow Winston through his rise in the New York underworld of the 1970s, where he will fight the demons of his past as he attempts to take over the iconic hotel, the Continental, which serves as a meeting point for the most dangerous criminals in the world.

Derek Kolstad, creator of the franchise, and co-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch will be on board the project as executive producers. But The Continental it will not represent the only expansion of the franchise: in fact, Ballerina, a John Wick spinoff starring Ana de Armas, will arrive at the cinema in 2024. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman and will take place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 and the fourth chapter.
