After Scenes from a wedding of HBO and George & Tammy for Paramount+, yet another miniseries on the way for Jessica Chastain. The Oscar-winning actress has been cast as the lead, this time by Apple, for The Savantan 8-episode limited series written and executive produced by Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal, The Americans) and directed by Matthew Heineman (A Private War, Retrograde) For Fifth Season And Anonymous content.

While we don’t have precise plot details yet, we do know that The Savant will be inspired by a true story, the one told in an article in Cosmopolitan in August 2019 about a woman who rose to fame as “The Savant” while infiltrating some online hate groups with the intent to help stop large-scale public attacks .
The incipit of the article reads: “You’ve never heard of it, but somewhere in America, a top secret investigator known as Savant is infiltrating online haters to thwart the most violent men in the land.“. “Is it possible to prevent a mass shooting before it happens?“.
The author of the original article, Andrea Stanley, will be a consultant on the project.
