In September 2022, the streaming service landed in Italy Paramount+. What can be seen by subscription on Paramount plus? TV series, films, documentaries and much more: the offer of this new platform offers global content, such as the saga franchise ‘Star Trek’and other internally produced such as the Italian series’Circeo‘, ‘Free body‘ And ‘Miss Fallaci‘ (filming of the latter series with Miriam Leone has just begun and we know that it will debut exclusively on Paramount+ soon – as reported by Ansa – even if, at the moment, there is no official date yet).
‘George & Tammy’
For Paramount plus a soon to be released TV series will be ‘George & Tammy‘ (season 1), available from April 27. The protagonists are Jessica Chastain And Michael Shannon in the role, respectively, of Tammy Wynette And George Jones, couple in art and in life. Their difficult but long relationship has inspired some of the most iconic country music songs of all time, born within a great love story still unknown to most. Other new titles have also recently been distributed on the Paramount+ Italia platform.
‘Yonder’ (season 1)
Released April 11th. Korea, 2040. A man hasn’t gotten over the death of his wife, who disappeared due to illness. One day, however, he receives a very special proposal via email. It was her unforgettable companion who sent it to her. The woman invites her widower husband to join her in a special place called Yonder. To be reunited with her, however, he must abandon her body. A K-drama which mixes science fiction, romance and drama.
‘Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies’ (season 1)
Released on April 7th. The musical series takes us back to Rydell High Schoolfour years before the well-known events in the iconic musical movie ‘Grease‘ with Olivia Newton-John And John Overwhelmed. Protagonists are Jane, Olivia, Cynthia and Nancy, interpreted respectively by Marisa Davila, Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Ari Notartomaso and Tricia Fukuharaleading members of a spectacular 50s girl gang.
‘Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head’
On April 13, in a reboot-revival of the historic MTV series, Beavis and Butt-Head are back in new episodes dubbed in Italian. The protagonists are still the two teenagers from the animated series created by the well-known screenwriter and director Mike Judgewhich became popular in the 90s.
‘Yellowjackets’ (season 2)
Released on April 12th. A team of talented high school soccer players crash a plane and end up as unfortunate survivors in a wilderness. In the second season hunger, fear, tensions grow between the survivors, forced to make very difficult decisions. With Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis. For the moment, however, based also on what appears on the platform’s Instagram account, the episodes released are only available in English, not yet in Italian. In April, on Paramount+ Italia, the first two seasons of ‘The Game’initially scheduled for April 20. The series offers a sort of examination of “black culture” analyzed through a particular lens, that of American football. The players, protagonists of the various episodes, are faced with issues such as racism, sexism, classism and more, as they fight for fame, fortune, respect and love. The cast includes Wendy Raquel Robinson, Vaughn Hebron, Hosea Chanchez, Coby Bell and Adriyan Rae. At the moment it seems that the series has suffered a slip and, according to what is reported on some specialized sites such as HDBlog, it should debut on May 10th. In addition to the TV series, the horror film was also released on Paramount+ in April 2023 ‘Smiley‘ with Sosie Bacon as a female doctor who witnesses an accident involving her patient, and the documentary film ‘The Quest for Tonewood‘ about a master luthier and his love of music and his craft.
