Tom Brady said Monday that he’s “very proud” of Colorado quarterback Shaddell Sanders and has “always been there for him,” apparently including when he offered advice on whether he needed another fancy new car.

Sanders’ father and Colorado State coach Deion Sanders asked Brady about the incident on his “Let’s Go!” show on Monday. Podcasts on SiriusXM.
“Tom, do you think college students need a Phantom, like a Rolls-Royce?” Colorado head coach Deion Sanders asked.
“No, it’s not a phantom,” said Shedeur Sanders, who also appeared on Monday’s podcast. “This is a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.”
“I think he needs to get in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible,” legendary former NFL quarterback Brady said.
“Thank you, Tom,” Deion Sanders said.
“Less time in the car, more time in the film room,” Brady said.
“I saw you had one, Tom,” Shaddell Sanders said of the car, and Brady was, in fact, seen driving one.
“That’s just rent,” Brady said. “Hey, I still had a few bucks in my pocket then.”
Now that college athletes can make money off their names, images and likenesses, Shaddell Sanders has done the same. He was also seen driving a Mercedes Maybach. But his recent success and relationship with Brady is why he and his father appeared on the podcast, where they talked about how Scheidel led Colorado from the brink of defeat to a victory in double overtime on Saturday night. Defeated Colorado State 43-35.

Why Tom Brady is proud of Shaddell Sanders
Colorado trailed by 11 points in the fourth quarter but tied it after Shedeur Sanders carried the ball 98 yards for a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the final minute of regulation.
Scheidel later called this the “Brady model,” a reference to his mentor’s courage in critical moments. Brady had previously helped train Scheidel and stayed in contact with him via text messages.
“I’m so proud of him, watching him grow and mature,” Brady said on the show. “We all start somewhere and he has a lot of high expectations and he embraces them. I love him and it makes me proud to see what he does. So I know this is just the beginning for you guys, Obviously the start of the season.”
The show is hosted by Colorado State graduate sports broadcaster Jim Gray.
“Shedeur, when you get advice from Tom, how does that differ from the advice you hear from your coaches and your dad?” Gray asked.
“Heard it from my dad, I’ve been hearing it my whole life,” Shadell Sanders replied. “So I would say I understand what he’s talking about most of the time now. But of course every time I talk to Tom it’s different. Because he’s actually been back there taking pictures. “My dad Never the quarterback. “
“I was there in high school, son,” Deion Sanders said. “Don’t minimize it.”
Colorado will play Oregon next Saturday in a game televised by ABC. As for the “Brady model,” Brady noted that things are different now since retiring.
“To me right now, Brady Mode is my golf game and my 98-yard sand wedge,” Brady said. “Like I said on my (Instagram account), I said I just wanted to go into ‘Shedeur mode’ just once. Because that young man is on to something.”
