Tom Brady trades rookie card to young fans for jerseys – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

What do you want — a Tom Brady rookie card or a DeVonta Smith jersey?

For most Philadelphia Eagles fans, the answer is simple. But negotiations get complicated when the man with the rookie card is the seven-time Super Bowl champion himself.

That’s the dilemma a little boy named Gavin faced last Saturday at Fanatics’ “Topps Hobby Rip Night” event at Wax, Packs, and Throwbacks in Linwood, New Jersey. Guests at the event included Brady, comedian Kevin Hart, rapper Travis Scott and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.

Brady has his own rookie card, said to be worth at least $1,000, which he offered to Gavin in exchange for the Eagles jersey he wore. Gavin quickly accepted the offer, taking the jersey off his back and handing it to Brady to receive the card.

“That’s a thousand dollar card. Keep that card for a while,” Brady told the boy.

Brady then presented the child-sized jersey to Eagles fan and Philly native Hart.
