Travis Kelce reportedly splashed out on a $6 million mansion in Kansas City, with the NFL star wanting more privacy amid his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift.
According to TMZ, Kelsey closed the deal Tuesday night, and his new home features a waterfall, pool and mini golf course.
The publication said Kelce, 34, was concerned about how accessible his previous home was and that the NFL star felt he needed more privacy.
He adds that his relationship with Swift influenced his decision-making and that his new home is apparently in a gated community. TMZ also adds that Kelsey paid for it with his own money and it was not a joint purchase with Swift.
Kelce has an annual salary of $14 million with the Kansas City Chiefs and signed a four-year contract in 2020 worth about $57 million.
But that salary will be complemented by a number of business deals he has struck in recent months, including with Pfizer, where he is encouraging people to get vaccinated. It also has deals with State Farm, Hy-Vee and Experian.
Kelsey and Swift were the talk of New York City this weekend, and the couple stayed at Swift’s Tribeca apartment for the weekend.
The pop star saw him play for the Chiefs on Thursday night as they defeated the Denver Broncos 19-8.
They then headed to the Big Apple together and made cameo appearances on Saturday Night Live before going to dinner at the famous Nobu sushi restaurant.
Kelsey’s latest episode of New Heights, a podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason, who plays in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles, touched on his weekend with Swift.
“I don’t even remember what I said, I blacked out,” Travis said of his SNL performance. “As soon as they gave me the sign, the whole place erupted, which was very overwhelming and I’m not even sure if I said anything.
“I walked off stage and said, ‘I didn’t say anything at all.’ Everyone said: “Yes, you killed him.” I watched it and I still don’t know if I said what I should have said.
“We came to SNL with the idea of going and supporting Ice Spice, she and Taylor are good friends. I’ve always wanted to meet Pete Davison, I’ve been a fan of his since he appeared on the show.
“I’ll tell you what, man, it was really nice to be back in that place, there’s something special about being in that room, and this is their first episode of the season. I was fucking excited, man.
“It was a star-studded back room, I’m not one to throw names around so I won’t, but it was amazing. Thank you for having us.
“I didn’t know what the skits were going to be, and I’m pretty sure it was just ironic that they did one from Swift Mania, but I thought it was fun, and when they asked me to be in it, I was like, ‘ Man, I’m honored.” And then Taylor also made a surprise cameo appearance, introducing her good friend Ice Spice, who also killed her.
“It was fun hanging out with everyone on SNL. I miss these guys and girls. Hopefully, you know, I win (the Super Bowl) or Jason wins it and we come back.”
Two-time Super Bowl winner Kelce and the Chiefs will take on the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. It remains to be seen whether Swift will be there to support him, but given that her Eras tour resumes in Argentina on November 9, there won’t be many opportunities for her to see him play in the near future.
After this weekend, the Chiefs head to Denver for a return game against the Broncos and then head to Germany next weekend to play the Miami Dolphins — five days before Swift’s first appearance in Buenos Aires.
