Travis Scott just wrote Utopiahis latest album, a 19-track work featuring some of the most famous artists in the world. And like any self-respecting rap artist, there can be no dissing in the songs, which in this case were called into question Timothy Chalametthe new alleged partner of his ex Kylie Jenner.
In the album, unexpectedly released on the night of July 27-28, 2023, everyone is present: we find Beyoncé, with whom she duet in “Delresto (echo)”, SZA, The Weeknd, who performed the previous day in Milan, 21 Savage, Future, Bad Bunny, Drake and Young Thug; production is no different Kanye West – Metro Boomin and Pharrell Williams, the disc boasts collaborations with some of the biggest names in the US music scene, and thus the world. The resurrection of Travis Scott five years after Astroworld and the tragedy that claimed the lives of 10 people during one of the concerts of his tour.
“Do I still have the capacity to be angry?” (Am I still capable of being angry?) Travis asks. Circus Maximus, a 75-minute documentary accompanying the release of the album. The answer is positive. And he proves this with a complex, articulated, almost violent work that does not spare even words. In the second verse of the song “Molten” The Houston rapper sings: “AP chocolate and Vs chocolate, got a Willy Wonka factory / Burn an athlete like his calories, find another flame hot like me” with which he refers to the story between Kylie and the actor who will play Willy Wonka in the prequel de Chocolate Factory.
“He will never find another flame like me,” he says, will soon be living in Pompeii (or perhaps it will be “just” the backdrop for a new video clip), and will be the protagonist of the Venice Film Festival, where he will be shown from competition Agro Dr1fta film by Harmory Korine, who will tell her story.
