UFC fighter says he’ll ‘wax’ LeBron James during fight: ‘He has no skills’

UFC fighter Bobby Green recently said he could easily wax Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James in a game and demanded the nickname “The King.”

“If LeBron wanted to fight me, it wouldn’t be close,” Green said.

He reiterated his opinion that he could easily defeat James in a hypothetical fight.

“It’s not going to be close,” he said.

Green then criticized James’ fighting ability.

“He’s a big guy, but I’m sorry he doesn’t have those skills,” Green said. “Skills pay the bills, sir.”

Finally, Green said he welcomes the opportunity to play against James.

“It’s a dime a drop,” Green said. “For a moment, without even thinking about it. Yeah. I’m going to wax him—!”

James was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft and played for three teams in 20 seasons in the NBA: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Lakers. In the 2022-23 regular season, he played 55 games for the legendary Lakers, averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game.

James led the team to four NBA championships in 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2020. His first two championships in 2012 and 2013 came while he was playing for the Heat alongside stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. James and the Heat defeated Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games in the 2012 NBA Finals and seven in the 2013 NBA Finals. defeated Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs.

Arguably, James’ most impressive championship came in 2016 when he was a member of the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers rallied from a 3-1 deficit against Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors to win the series and championship in seven games. The 38-year-old averaged 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists in the championship series.

James’ most recent championship came in 2020 with the Lakers. He and star big man Anthony Davis helped the Lakers defeat Jimmy Butler and the Heat in six games in the 2020 NBA Finals.

Green would likely indeed beat James in a fight because he is a professional boxer and James is not. But a match between these two athletes is sure to be a must-see on television.
