Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet, two of Hollywood’s brightest young stars, once shared their experiences working on the highly anticipated film Dune. In a conversation with MTV News, they talked about the challenges and joys of their roles in the weighty series.

As the MTV News interview began, the interviewer began the conversation by asking about the nature of Dune and whether the project would be easy to get rid of. Timothee Chalamet, who plays the lead role of Paul Atreides in the film, began by acknowledging the importance of the project. He emphasized the presence of meaningful themes and an undeniable weight that permeates the film’s narrative. He explained that while Dune wasn’t necessarily a dark production, it wasn’t a walk in the park.
Timothy continued to share moments of levity on set, especially when Zendaya, who plays Chani, was present. In his own words, he stated: “Thank God, when Zendaya was there, we had a lot of fun, and the whole cast did. We had Polaroids of Javier, which we used to blackmail him, in which he danced with us. It’s not like it was a heavy shoot when Zendaya wasn’t there, but, you know, it was a long shoot and the material itself isn’t dark, but you know. “It’s not easy,” said Zendaya, confirming: “We had a great time.”

Zendaya and Chalamet’s friendship blossomed during their collaboration in Dune itself. Since then, they have been seen together at numerous events and have openly praised each other in interviews.
Speaking to Variety in 2021, Timothy affectionately referred to Zendaya as his “sister,” saying, “She has truly become a sister. I am so grateful to consider her a partner, a sister and a friend.”
Additionally, regarding multiple sources, Chalamet praised Zendaya performance in the Dune sequel, calling her “incredible” and stating that she brings everything she brought to the first film, but in greater quantities.
