Klay Thompson drops Stephen Curry and LeBron James comparisons that will raise eyebrows among Warriors and Lakers fans
LeBron James and Stephen Curry have both found success despite having very different styles of play. This comparison usually ends with their leadership and success on the court, but Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson recently made another comparison between the two future Hall of Famers.
“He’s one of the hardest-working guys who plays the game,” Thompson said, via ESPN’s Kendra Andrews. “The sky is the limit. “He could change the image of the elite before he turns 40. LeBron (James) is doing the same thing and Steph is following suit. “
LeBron, 38, is playing at an elite level with the Los Angeles Lakers. Curry is 35 years old and has started the 2023-24 season very well.
Stephen Curry isn’t slowing down
Curry looks nothing like a 35-year-old on the court. He still ran great and never seemed to slow down.
One of the things that separates Curry from other players is his intelligence on the court, which is similar to LeBron. Both James and Steph see the court on a different level, which gives them the ability to make big plays, drive to the rim or shoot.
Curry’s excellent three-point shooting ability also gives him an advantage. When he’s outside the three-point line, defenders have to chase him. As long as there is a ray of sunshine, Curry will pull up. In fact, sometimes he doesn’t even need daylight to shoot.
What Stephen Curry continues to do at age 35 is incredible. Klay Thompson believes he can keep playing until he’s 40 because of his work ethic.
Of course, some skeptics might say otherwise. But Curry has silenced his critics throughout his career. Considering everything the Warriors superstar has accomplished in his storied NBA career, anyone willing to doubt Curry is taking a huge risk.
