Michael Jordan’s third retirement was different from his first. He failed to lead the Washington Wizards to the playoffs. However, it was a huge moment for fans and the legend himself. The six-time champion’s final game and the emotions associated with it hold special significance. The same goes for Jordan’s final jersey, which is extremely special and is worth over $500,000 at auction. However, where is the jersey now and what would it fetch at auction today?

Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas recently made a bold and unusual claim during his latest live performance. During the show, Agent Zero talked about Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant’s parents putting the legend’s championship ring up for auction. Arenas later revealed that he also has something worth millions of dollars.
Arenas claims he likes to collect Jordan game memorabilia and boasts that he owns Jordan’s last jersey. “Listen, I low-key collect some shit, don’t I? I’m collecting. I’ve got Jordans. And then you guys talk about the last dance. I got the last jersey Jordan ever wore. Come on, I’ve got some. I’m ‘him’ when it comes to things like this. Yes sir,” shouted Sands.

Auction house sells Michael Jordan’s final jersey
However, considering the player has a record of picking up some of Jordan’s personal items, it may be possible. During an episode of his “Gils Arena” podcast, Agent Zero shared that when he joined the Wizards in 2003, he was able to get his hands on Jordan’s jerseys, orthotics and more. However, the facts tell a completely different story about the entire situation.
Despite his claims, Goldin Auctions appears to have had full details of the jersey before it was sold in 2019. His final game came on April 16, 2003 against the Philadelphia 76ers. The No. 23 jersey is also signed by Legend. While memories of the game are not fond, the price the jersey fetched at auction was quite impressive.

According to Bleachers, the iconic jersey was worn approximately 14 times. It made approximately $570,000 at auction. Prior to this, the jersey was owned by George Kohler. First, he was Jordan’s limousine driver, and over the years, he became a close confidant of the champion. Arenas’ statement may have been a joke among listeners on his show, or we don’t know more details yet. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments section below.
