X’s user, formerly known as Twitterthey will no longer be able to block other accountsa feature used by some as an extra security measure, as Elon Musk posted on his social network this Friday.
Musk, who bought the platform last year, noted that users can still block certain options for other accounts, such as sending private messages, and the option to mute other accounts remains.The latest change adds to a string of revisions Musk, who is also chief executive of Tesla and SpaceX, has made since taking over the company, such as Change network name and logo or remove free verification provided to relevant parties.
Musk did not elaborate on the reasons for the change or when the measure would go into effect. Blocking means that banned accounts cannot see content posted by other users, comment on their content, or tag other accounts. Meanwhile, the mute feature only prevents the user who performed the action from seeing the blocked account’s response, but other users can.
