The state of Zacatecas achieved 99% coverage of the BCG vaccine for boys and girls under 1 year of age, the same rate as the hexavalent vaccine, which protects infants against diphtheria, whooping cough, hepatitis B and Attacks of tetanus, polio, pneumonia and meningitis.

Likewise, the state achieved 99 percent of its rotavirus and pneumococcal vaccination targets in the second dose; and 99.4 percent of its hexavalent vaccine for 1-year-old girls and boys.

Other vaccines in the program include the SRP vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps, and the DPT against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus, which have also reached 99 per cent coverage.
