Year 2024 is a very special year for Madrid band Burning, who will celebrate their 50th anniversary Johnny Cifuentes is at the helm.Half a century of rock’s best will be celebrated A special concert will be held on March 7th at the La Riviera room in Madrid, where they will recreate the legendary concert recorded in 1991, one of our rock’s historic live albums. This will be a unique event that allows you to relive a great live show where the songs everyone knows and will be sung with passion along with the band on March 7th.
Burning was born in Madrid in 1974 Featuring guitarist Pepe Risi, vocalist Toño Martín, bassist Enrique Pérez and drummer Ernesto Estepa ), soon joined by keyboardist Johnny Cifuentes. They began singing in English, performing their own songs alongside the Rolling Stones’ versions, and that same year they released their first single, “I’m Burning”/”Johnny B. Good”. His debut record appeared in 1978 with the album Madrid, which was the beginning of a career full of successes and misfortunes, such as the death of his singer Toño from a drug overdose and the replacement of Pepe Risi and Johnny Cifuentes on lead vocals. Tragedy struck the band again in 1997, when guitarist, vocalist and main composer Pepe Risi died of pneumonia.The tireless Johnny Cifuentes decided to pull the wagon and take charge Having achieved great success in recent years, it seems to be enjoying a second youth.
