Nothing strays further from my heart than alarmism or ashes. Quite simply, in the current fourth theater, covered by political news (actually non-news, mostly), I saw BAC’s COVID-19 data for the past month face-to-face. end of august.
Granted, they’re a far cry from the horrific numbers of consecutive waves a little over a year ago, but we’re talking numbers that, at least to me, are respectable.
According to the Ministry of Health, there were 30 deaths in the three regions last month, 20 of them – mind you – in the last week alone. Basque hospitals have admitted 157 patients, three of whom are in intensive care. Since the number of infections not requiring hospitalization has not been kept for several months, we lack this data.
In any case, just looking around us, it is enough to know that summer brings with it a huge increase in positive factors. Indeed, most of these cases were, in simple terms, not beyond the discomfort of the common cold or bloody flu.
On a positive note, perhaps these indicators show us that we as a whole have achieved our long-awaited ability to live with the virus, or that we are close to achieving it. Even so, of course, instead of dwelling on or allowing ourselves to be carried away by fears that have no place, we want to remember that the disease has persisted, and from time to time, it persists, and it doesn’t hurt. Insist on reminding us of this.
