Sydney Sweeney, an Emmy nominee for The White Lotus, and Academy Award-winning actress Julianne Moore have been cast in the two lead roles in Michael Pearce’s upcoming thriller, Variety reports. Echo Valley. The project is part of Brad Ingelsby’s multi-year deal with Apple TV+.

Moore will play grieving horse trainer Kate Garrett, while Sweeney will play her wayward daughter, Claire.
Ingelsby wrote the screenplay for the film directed by Pearce, also working as a producer alongside Ridley Scott, who is attached to the project with his Scott Free.

The synopsis anticipates what the film tells the Kate Garrett story, a woman devastated by a personal tragedy who spends her days training horses at the charming Echo Valley Farm. One night, her wayward daughter Claire shows up frightened at her door, covered in someone else’s blood. At that point Kate will have to decide how far she is determined to go to protect her daughter.

Julianne Moore recently starred in Jesse Eisenberg’s feature debut When You Finish Saving the World, and before Echo Valley she will appear in the psychological thriller Sharper opposite Sebastian Stan, and in Todd Haynes’ May December opposite Natalie Portman. After the success achieved in the role of Cassie Howard in Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney wowed fans in her latest photo shoot and cemented her heyday with The White Lotus. Also, she will soon star in Madame Web.
