Ed Sheeran’s ‘Math’ Tour Breaks Record at SoFi Stadium

Ed Sheeran’s penultimate show on his Math Tour at SoFi Stadium broke another attendance record.

At SoFi Stadium, Sheeran’s “Math” tour broke the record for the highest attendance for a single stadium show. More than 81,000 fans were in attendance at SoFi Stadium.

This isn’t the first time Sheeran’s Math tour has broken attendance records. He completes another record-breaking show at Levi’s Stadium. The Math Tour is a true celebration of Sheeran’s first five studio albums. It launched in April 2022 in support of his album Equals (=). The tour continued this year with the release of his latest album, Subtract (-).

The SoFi Stadium performance was originally intended to be the final show of Sheeran’s tour. However, the cancellation of the Las Vegas show has forced a shift and the Mathematics tour will now end on October 28th. Simultaneously, Sheeran is embarking on the Subtraction Tour, which plays small theaters in cities before stadium shows.

Ed Sheeran is changing things up by switching to seasonal albums after five math-themed releases. The first album of this new era, Autumn Variations, will be released on Friday, September 29th. Autumn Variations will be the first album released under his Gingerbread Man Records label. An accompanying live album will also be released, with live tracks of each song recorded in the homes of different fans.

While Taylor Swift and her Eras tour are the talk of the town, Sheeran showed off his star power during his Mathematics tour. The stadium tour is his biggest to date and fans are consuming it in every city.
