Netflix Wednesdayset to make a big return in season two, will feature familiar faces from the first season as well as new characters inspired by the iconic Addams Family.
It was recently reported that following the imminent decision to go on strike by the Screen Actors Guild, Wednesday The second season will be a top priority for Netflix.
All the characters expected in the second season of Wednesday
Wednesday The first season was a huge success, becoming the second-biggest streaming week ever recorded by Nielsen when it first launched on Netflix in November 2022.
A big part of that is Tim Burton as director, as well as a stellar cast led by Jenna Ortega.
Jenna Ortega – Wednesday Addams
Rising to fame, Jenna Ortega’s season one role as Wednesday Addams took the world by storm.

Hunter Doohan portrays Tyler Galpin, Sheriff Galpin’s son, who works as a barista at a nearby coffee shop and develops romantic feelings for Wednesday.
This romantic subplot will be scaled back in Season 2, which will put Tyler in an interesting situation. Let’s hope the writers find a new purpose for Tyler that doesn’t feel unnatural or forced.
Doohan is also known for his role in the Showtime series. Your Honor series starring Bryan Cranston.
Emma Myers – Enid Sinclair
Enid Sinclair is a spirited werewolf who becomes Wednesday’s roommate at Nevermore Academy and seeks to befriend her, although Ortega’s character initially shows little interest in forming a connection.
Emma Myers tells Variety she knows “absolute squats” O Wednesday Season 2:
“I understand the absolute squat. I’m so ignorant. Nobody likes to tell me anything. We don’t know anything. So I would like to say something. But all I know is that there is a second season and that’s it.”
When asked about a possible romance between Enid and Wednesday, Myers said Wednesday. “you need to survive the season of loneliness:”
“We haven’t really talked about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything. As far as Wednesday’s love interests go, I feel like, at least for season two, she needs her season of loneliness.”
Joyful Sunday – Bianca Barclay
Bianca Barclay is Xavier’s ex-girlfriend and an accomplished student at Nevermore Academy, played by Joy Sunday.
The first season ends with a hint that Bianca may step away from the spotlight to attend to family matters, leaving viewers on edge about her potential return in season two.
Reflecting on her time filming the first season, Sunday had high praise (via Deadline) for Jenna Ortega:
“It was a really wonderful experience and I was very lucky to have it. We all love and care about each other, and I think the main person responsible for that feeling is Jenna Ortega.”
Catherine Zeta-Jones – Morticia Addams
Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Morticia Addams, Wednesday’s mother, who attended Nevermore Academy in her youth and has psychic abilities similar to her daughter.
One look at Morticia in season two came from costume designer Colleen Atwood. In a conversation with Variety, Atwood mentioned that Morticia will be “many looks:”
“She’s going to have a lot of looks in season two, so it’ll be really interesting to see what Morticia does when she takes off her dress and starts walking around the house.”
Luis Guzman – Gomez Addams
Gomez Addams, known as Father Wednesday, is taken on by Luis Guzman. He is a defendant in a murder case in the first season.
Guzman revealed key details about his role in season two to Screen Rant. The actor noted that he not only “sword fight” in the second season, but I also feel great on the dance floor:
“I’m going to dance; I’m going to sword fight. And there was something else. I don’t know what it was, but yes.”
Isaac Ordonez – Pugsley Addams
Isaac Ordonez took on the role of Wednesday’s younger brother, Pugsley, in the first season.
In the first season, it was usually Wednesday who came to Pugsley’s aid when he encountered bullies. Season 2 could change the dynamic of their relationship, allowing Pugsley to be more supportive of his sister.
George Burcha – Lurch
Lurch (George Burcha) plays a seemingly small role in the first season as the Addams family’s butler, but the final look at his character has left much theorizing.
Attentive viewers noted a clear change in the butler’s appearance in the finale, especially in his eyes.
Lurch’s change in appearance, the length of the camera’s focus and the unusual absence of Morticia, Gomez and Pugsley during Wednesday’s filming raised suspicions among viewers, prompting speculation about whether a certain werewolf could be impersonating him.
Fred Armisen – Uncle Fester
Fred Armisen plays the role of Uncle Fester, Wednesday’s eccentric uncle known for his remarkable talent for generating static electricity.
Armisen spoke with E! News and discussed his expectations and ideas for the future of the show after reading the script for the series finale:
“I thought it was a good script to leave people wanting more. I think it’s difficult. Even if it has to go on, they’ve done a really good job of keeping it exciting.”
Gwendoline Christie – Director Larissa Weems
Gwendoline Christie takes on the role of Larissa Weems, the fearsome principal of Nevermore Academy with the unique ability to shapeshift, who dies during the events of the first season.
However, it is unclear whether the person who appears to have died from poisoning is actually Weems, as Weems and the other werewolf may have conspired to get one of them to impersonate her in order to deceive Thornhill.
This theory suggests that Weems was observing the situation from a distance, which explains why Thornhill apparently killed her so easily. She may now be posing as Lurch.
Jamie McShane – Sheriff Galpin
Donovan Halpin, played by Jamie McShane, is the sheriff of Jericho who is suspicious of Wednesday Ortega and is pursuing revenge against the Addams family.
Sheriff Halpin’s goal in season two remains unknown, leaving room for speculation that he may be seeking reconciliation with Wednesday and the other Nevermore students after Tyler’s destructive actions in season one.
His character development and motivations are ripe for further exploration as the new season progresses.
Percy Hines White – Xavier Thorpe
Percy Hines White portrays the character Xavier Thorpe, a student with a unique talent for bringing his artwork to life.
Percy Hynes White has been dropped from the cast of A Wednesday season two following allegations of sexual assault at a party in Toronto in January 2023, Daily Mail UK reports.
Musa Mostafa – Eugene Ottinger
Mousa Mostafa plays the role of Eugene Ottinger, a student with the ability to manipulate bees.
Eugene was seriously injured by a monster during the first season, resulting in him being hospitalized. In the season finale, Eugene provides Wednesday with vital information about Miss Thornhill’s involvement in a sinister plot and helps defeat her.
Christina Ricci – Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates
A familiar look? Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the film The Addams Familyreturned to Wednesday as Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates, a botany teacher at Nevermore Academy.
Miss Thornhill was revealed as Laurel Gates (the last descendant of the evil Joseph Craxstone) and played a key role in the season one finale, manipulating Tyler into committing heinous acts.
She ultimately kills Principal Weems and attempts to bring back Joseph Craxstone, setting off a chain of confrontations at Nevermore Academy.
Thornhill remains alive, opening the door for her potential return with even more power at her disposal in season two.
New member of The Addams Family
There will be a new addition to the Addams family. Wednesday Season two, according to the recent Netflix TUDUM event featuring Ortega, Doohan, Myers and Sandi.
So far, the actors have not yet figured out who this newcomer might be. Ortega hopes that Cousin Itt will come, and Doohan and Sunday have expressed a desire to meet Grandma Wednesday.
