It wouldn’t have made much difference if the Netherlands had done it Go right not known as a winner idolsJamaican song. Twenty years after winning the talent show, the singer says he received two possible singles as he neared the final. Go right and nothing less than This love brown 5.
“Indeed it would be This love it became my single,” says Jamai. “Maroon 5’s record company had no intention of releasing it as a single from the band. That’s why it was offered internationally.” Maroon 5’s version had previously appeared on their debut album Songs about Jane.
“I had already recorded the song, but then it was decided that Maroon 5 would use it as a single themselves.” This lovewritten by Maroon 5 members Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael, it marked the great breakthrough of the American band in 2004.
So in the end it was Go right for Jaime. “It worked out well because we knew Jim Tell him had chosen as the last single, which is also a mid-tempo song. That’s why we ended up speeding with Go right.”
Step Right Up vs This Love

“If I thought both songs sucked, they probably had something up their sleeve”
“At first I didn’t care Go right. It didn’t feel like much,” Jamai admits. “But I was sixteen and at the time I had only done covers. For idols I just sang at school and in the attic. I didn’t have the knowledge yet to know which song would be right for me.”
Never knew during his participation in idols not entirely sure what he wanted musically. “At that point, you only rely on the team around you who know about it. If I found both songs crap, they probably still had one song on their hands. But there was also no time to think long and hard. The final was fast approaching so everything had to be recorded and printed quickly.”
The great success of the number 1 hit helped Jamai Go right have more fun. “Then you’ll make it up to me. I keep getting videos every weekend of people going wild over it. It also has a nostalgic feeling to me now and I’m definitely proud of that.”
The singer regularly sings the song live. “If requested, I will.”
