KAROL G breaks all records. Her fourth studio album, “Mañana Será Bonito” (English: “Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful”) is the first album by a female artist recorded entirely in the Spanish language to debut at #1 on the US BILLBOARD 200 album chart.
The album generated a record over 118 million on-demand streams, the highest first-week debut ever for a Spanish-language album by a female artist.
Additionally, the lead single “TQG” featuring Shakira is currently the most streamed song worldwide on Spotify.
“TQG” stands for “Te Quedo Grande (Too big For You)” and is a pop/reggaeton song, an ode to women and letting go of anger, in which the two superstars stand up and support each other, after their respective love affairs ended badly.
Huge numbers are also arriving on the video clip front: over 156 million views in just a few days!
“Mañana Será Bonito” is a new chapter in the life and career of KAROL G, which started with the first single “Provenza”, one of the most played songs in the world in 2022, as well as the most viewed video on VEVO of the year with 627 million of views.
THE DISC
The new album is very personal – “there is a lot of myself (Carolina) rather than of Karol G”, declares the artist – and will give the opportunity to get to know her better and to identify with her experience. Instead of the typical “machismo” of reggaeton, KAROL offers a genuinely positive view on female sensuality.
The album’s messages revolve around the concepts of forgiveness, healing, acceptance, gaining self-awareness and one’s choices and female empowerment.
“Mañana Será Bonito” is a journey through the feelings and emotions that Karol experienced during a moment of transition in his life, also symbolized by the change of color of the pop star’s hair from blue to red. Anger, sadness, abandonment, conquest of self-awareness, sweetness and sensuality come together in the songs of the album.
Finally, the title is a message of hope and encouragement: it doesn’t matter if you’re having a bad time, after everything you’re trying, tomorrow will come and it will be beautiful.
The disc contains many duets, including the one with Shakira, Sean Paul, Quevedo, Justin Quiles, Romeo Santos and important collaborations with producers such as Ovy on the Drums, FINNEAS (brother of Billie Eilish and winner of 8 Grammy Awards) and Linda Goldstein. In the various tracks, we highlight the song “Carolina” which contains a sample of “Morenamia” by Miguel Bosè.
The announcement of the album title was made by the singer on her social networks a few weeks ago through the publication of a colorful teaser trailer showing Karol G in a red car in her native city, Medellín. A fun colored note appears on the windshield of the car with the number to call when a person feels sad. On the other end of the phone, a group of children tenderly announce that ‘tomorrow will be beautiful’ and everything will be fine.
“Mañana Será Bonito” follows the incredible success of her previous Grammy nominated album, “KG0516”. In 2022, the artist embarked on her “$trip Love Tour,” the biggest grossing U.S. box office tour by a Latina female artist ever.
She was also the most awarded artist at the Latin Music Awards 2022, winning in 6 categories including “Artist of the Year” and “Album of the Year” with her album “KG0516”. She is the absolute spokesperson for the Latin world who also well represented her with her unforgettable performance at Coachella 2022.
