LACM Alumnus Drew Louis Wins Prestigious LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award – Pasadena Now

The Los Angeles College of Music alumna in Pasadena has been honored with the Music Forward Foundation’s LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award.

Drew Louis received the coveted award, which recognizes Louis’ outstanding contributions to the music industry and his dedication to the LGBTQ+ community.

Thursday, October 19 at 12:00 pm Live Nation will host an exhibition of new LGBTQ+ artists to recognize and honor Drew and other outstanding artists. Links Here register.

Reflecting on his musical journey, Louis shares, “My voice is someone who is not afraid to create music that appeals to everyone while maintaining his truth and his messages.”

Erin Workman, LACM’s executive vice president and head of songwriting and music business, expressed pride in Louis’ accomplishments.

“Los Angeles College of Music prides itself on fostering diverse talent and nurturing the creative spirit of its students,” Workman said.

“Watching LACM graduates thrive and succeed in the industry is one of the most rewarding aspects of our job. Drew exemplifies the institution’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the music industry, and we are very proud to have him as a part of the LACM community!”

The Music Forward Foundation, part of the House of Blues and Live Nation family, is dedicated to changing the lives of young people. The company recently announced the 2023 LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award, which will honor 15 outstanding artists. Louis and the other 14 recipients received $10,000 to further develop their creative endeavors and amplify their unique voices.

Louis, a singer, songwriter and producer, is best known for his work with Sony Music’s The Gospellers and IZ*ONE’s YENA. He has collaborated with industry luminaries including Matt Beckley (Camila Cabello – Havana), Francis Carel (2M+ – Tik Tok) and Trinity Tuck (RuPaul’s Drag Race).

In addition to these achievements, Louis gained recognition as an artist by performing at WEHO Pride in June 2023. His single “Love So Right”, released the same month, caught the attention of Galore Magazine.
