The songwriter, model and actress best known as the co-writer of the Katy Perry hit has been found after being missing from her Beverly Hills home for about three months, officials confirmed.

Camela Leirt-Segura, 48, was located by police on Oct. 5 through an anonymous source who reported seeing Leirt-Segura in Santa Monica, Lt. Reginald Evans, a spokesman for the Beverly Hills Police Department, wrote in an email. at SFGATE on Tuesday.

“The BHPD Duty Commander has requested further investigation from the Santa Monica Police Department,” Evans wrote. “After SMPD contacted Camela Segura, she advised them that she was not in trouble and did not require any police services.”

The Santa Monica Police Department confirmed that Leiert-Segura was found in the city. “She was healthy and refused assistance,” Lt. Erika Akloufi wrote in an email to SFGATE. “We contacted Beverly Hills Police to let them know she had been found and then removed her from the missing persons system.”

Leiert-Segura was reportedly last seen on June 29 in her Ford Fusion leaving Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills police previously told SFGATE that she was not officially reported missing until more than a month later, on August 8th. Family in her native Sweden and friends in Los Angeles are leading the search for the missing songwriter.

On Friday, October 6, Leirt-Segura’s friend Liz Montgomery posted on social media that she had been found, the LA Times reported. “Camela has been found and is safe,” Montgomery reportedly wrote on her Instagram account, which has since been made private. “We would like to thank everyone for their support; without the help of the public we would not have found it. I can’t provide more details, but thank you!”

Montgomery previously told the Times that Leiert-Segura fell on hard times during the coronavirus pandemic, which prevented her from getting modeling, acting and musician jobs. She was reportedly evicted from her Beverly Hills apartment shortly before her disappearance. Her 19-year-old cat, Morris, is also reported missing.

In 2013, the songwriter co-wrote Katy Perry’s single “Walking on Air.”

According to her IMDb biography, Leiert-Segura was born in 1975 in Nederlulea, Sweden. As a child, she worked as an actress from the age of five. At the age of 15 she moved to the USA. In addition to modeling and songwriting, Leiert-Segura has directed music videos and off-Broadway plays.

As an independent musician, the singer released the album “Time Heals Nothing” under the name Kamela Leiert on Universal Music Sweden in 2010. The live performance of “So Sad” has received nearly 18,000 views on YouTube.
