Bhagavanth Kesari. This Indian drama about a man trying to get even with a powerful businessman who is costing him money was not screened by critics. No rating. (Grandee).
Common land. The Hollywood-scale documentary, which attempts to raise awareness of how factory farming methods, genetically modified crops and toxic pesticides are destroying the soil’s carbon content, did not air in time for Ground Zero’s deadline. No rating. (Grandee).
Fremont. This witty, ultra-indie drama from director and co-writer Babak Jalali features a wonderful, quiet yet touching debut performance from Anahita Wali Zada as Donya, an insomniac Afghan immigrant who works in a fortune cookie factory. No rating. (Ross). Grade: TO.
Enemy. Starring Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal as the only Midwestern farming couple left in 2065, this grandly twisted dystopian sci-fi film makes for a pretty picture, but there’s not much else there. R. (Grand). Grade: WITH-.

Martin Scorsese’s first Western is a stunning work and an extremely important film that uses the tropes of the Western to tell the story of a series of heinous crimes committed against the Osage people at the hands of white men. The Nightmare Before Christmas: 30 years. Tim Burton’s stop-motion animated musical about Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King returns to theaters just in time for Halloween. PG. (Grandee). Grade: TO.
Our body. French documentarian Claire Simon trains her compassionate eye and ear for doctor-patient interactions, both intimate and epic, in the examination rooms of a gynecology clinic in Paris. The film was not shown by Ground Zero’s deadline. No rating. (Ross).
Ghosts in Venice. Writer-director Kenneth Branagh makes the best of his three Hercule Poirot films, demonstrating incredible skill and stylistic experimentation in bringing to life the complex emotions in Agatha Christie’s mystery. PG-13. (Edgewood). Grade: B.
Canary. This simple documentary tells the story of scientist Lonnie Thompson, whose discoveries about mountain glaciers made him one of the first to warn about global warming. No rating. (Ross). Grade: B.
Creator. This sci-fi film about a soldier protecting a child who is an artificial intelligence weapon tries to incorporate so many different elements into its narrative that it results in a tangle of confusing confusion. PG-13. (Grandee). Grade: WITH.
Equalizer 3. Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua wrap up the series with a finely crafted plot in which a former government assassin tries to free his friends from crime lords in Italy. R. (Edgewood). Grade: C+.
Exorcist: Believer. Leslie Odom Jr. confronts the evil facing his daughter with the help of Ellen Burstyn in this “Exorcist” spin-off that delivers on no new ideas or angst. R. (Grand, Edgewood). Grade: WITH-.
PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. The PAW Patrol pups gain superpowers after a magical meteor lands in Adventure City in the latest installment of the series. PG. (Grand, East Park, Edgewood, SouthPoint). Grade: C+.
Saw The tenth installment of the gory horror series goes back in time as John Kramer travels to Mexico for a botched experimental cancer surgery that forces him to turn the tables on the artists who set him up. R (Grand). Grade: B.
Taylor Swift/The Eras Tour. Taylor Swift’s three-hour concert film of her stadium tour is huge, but nothing can quite recreate the explosive excitement of a live musical performance, especially one of this magnitude. But in this format, Swift comes as close as possible. PG-13. (Grand, East Park, Edgewood, SouthPoint). Grade: B.
