LeBron James is entering his 21st NBA season and is now a veteran of the league. When the Los Angeles Lakers opened training camp this week, James had a scary (yet hilarious) reaction to becoming the NBA’s oldest player.

James is 38 years old and will turn 39 on December 30 during the 2023-24 season. This was obviously pretty terrible news for him. The NBA social media team asked James on Thursday for his reaction to becoming the league’s oldest player. He gave them a season-long response and then dunked it with ease.

James does have some solid company on the NBA’s oldest roster. P.J. Tucker of the Philadelphia 76ers and Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns are also 38 years old, but they are both several months younger than James.

Now in the twilight of his career, James is trying to pass on some knowledge to the next generation.Monday, James Lakers forward Rui Hachimura picks As someone under his protection.

“I call him my Daniel-san, I’m Mr. Miyagi,” James said.

Regardless of his age, James remains one of the best basketball players in the world. Last season, he played in 55 games, averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. In the playoffs, James continued his dominance with averages of 24.5 points, 9.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, leading the Lakers to the Eastern Conference Finals.
